8 is GREAT!!

Well it happened. Some people call themselves procrastinators - but I really am one. If you ever find yourself in a situation like this one - you could be one too! The day of your 1st son's baptism, your mom looks at the white shirt he is going to wear and says "this is unacceptable".. Hey the shirt was free and it is fine - it is just one of those shirts that need to be ironed really well. Then she says "where is his tie, doesn't he have a tie".. Serious mom - I look at her like what are you even talking about. Long story short we are off to Target to buy a shirt and tie. That being accomplished, we make him change outside so I can get his picture in front of the Target store.

Then you go back into Target to the photo shop and print the - awesomely lacking in hair gel that was so desperately needed- photo of that said son. Anyways if this ever happens to you - you can be classified as a procrastinator too!! I also didn't send out invitations, and we decided we were going to baptize him here 10 days before we did it. I was sitting in DeAnn's house the day before J's baptism, and I said "you know J is getting baptized tomorrow" - "WHAT!" she exclaimed - "did you tell me this before?" In my defense it was announced in church the Sunday before and my answer was -"probably not" :).. Here is the Target picture.. (Getting an acceptable smile out of him was horrible for all involved - but 20 pics later we had a decent one)

Our good friends came up from VA to be there with us on this special day - we are going to miss them. We hope they move to the west - SOON! I am huge in this picture, but I am hiding behind cute boys!! My mom was there of course but I don't have a picture on my camera - she has one on hers, but that is way too much effort to get to.

Here is the cute dad and son combo - J was baptized with his friend Russel. It was a perfect night!! How fun for dads to get to do these life changing ordinances for their kids. We have been talking about and teaching baptism in our house forever. This was the day J got to make the commitment - of course we are so EXCITED for him.

This next picture is of my mom - can you tell she thinks it is cold here in PA!! She is such a baby - I tried to keep the thermostat down, but she couldn't take it. This is her with the thermostat at 67.. serious.. We have been having lots of fun and lots of naps. This baby was suppose to be coming today and tomorrow - instead we get to wait until mon/tue. She will be a groundhog baby probably. Therefore mom and I have been enjoying the time to just relax and have fun (and I am trying not to eat candy but GET REAL!).

There was a shower - and I will admit that I walked away blessed with more pink than I ever could imagine. When we got home J was on this right away. DeAnn made this tutu - she tells me I am to put it on her all the time. Then when she is 9 months old she won't want to go without it. It is sooo CUTE!! FYI - a true procrastinator doesn't have a name yet for her baby 5-6 days before her birth...

Speaking of Michelle (well, I was just asking you about her)... there she is on your blog. Sheesh... how old is Cameron??? I haven't seen them since he was a wee baby.
I love that Target story. That's so funny. Crazy that you have an 8-year-old.
I love the picture of your Mom all snuggled up. That's how we westerners are in the cold. :)
Also, you look really great for being 9 months pregnant! Sorry that your little girl isn't coming out as soon as you thought... but she'll be here so soon. That tutu is darling.

congrats to j! I love that your mom MADE you go and get him something to wear. I am sad that I missed your shower...I need your new address (not that I have your present - I am fellow procrastinator) but I have been thinking about you! I hope all goes well and that the little baby comes out wonderfully!
